Why the date moves
A tithi is one instant everywhere. A day is not.
A tithi begins at the same moment on every clock on earth — but the Hindu day runs from your sunrise to your next sunrise. That is why festival dates split between India and the diaspora, and occasionally for reasons far subtler than the time difference.

Method
Every number here can be checked.
Positions come from the JPL development ephemeris via Skyfield. The ayanamsa is Lahiri, anchored to the Indian Astronomical Ephemeris rather than to the widely quoted value that fails to reproduce it. Sunrise and sunset are computed for your coordinates and elevation, not looked up for a country.
Rahu Kaal has been checked against four independent published panchangs, which agree exactly on all seven weekdays and on the rule that it never falls in the first eighth of the day. Ours disagreed with all four on six of them, and has been corrected — the table was a lookup, so no amount of correct arithmetic around it would ever have caught it. Moonrise is computed from the Moon’s own distance and agrees with Swiss Ephemeris to about four seconds. Nothing in the product is provisional any more.
